Monthly Membership Minutes January 26, 2009
President (Dan)
called the meeting to order.
Treasurer Report
Bob was happy to give his last report. He stated ABATE has money and
it was no small task to be the treasurer. The bank of bad habits
will ride once again.
Rider Ed Prep
* Class registration will
be done online through MTII for a $10.00 fee, plus the amount it
will cost to take credit cards.
*Students will present a
receipt to either the Harley Shop or Honda Hut for their manuals for
the BRC class.
* Order plugs
batteries, levers, etc – deferred to another meeting.
* A grant revision was
made ABATE now has $75,000.00 for materials to repair the DOT
lot/range. Larry will check with DOT Commissioner for DOT to do the
work, and a 10 year lease.
CPR/AED Training
* 8 slots
have been approved. 5 coaches and 3 other active members. Don
Johnston and Jerry Beasley agreed to take the class, which means
there is one more opening.
* Bob will
get date options for the class.
Tax Time; fed/state/city
* Pam J will contact Dan
McLeod to see how far he has gotten with ABATE tax year 2007 and
recover records he has.
*Pam Johnston will take
care of the Sales Tax Report and the Business Personal Property
Report.
* 1099
forms are on order per Bob
MAY Rally planning
* Nugget Mall is the
location-Roland and Jerry to Chair and follow up with insurance
companies.
* Booth
allocations for non-profits on a case by case basis.
Finances
* Changing
banks will be up to the new treasurer.
* Debit
card for RiderEd also up to the new Treasurer
Grants
* Committee
vs. 1-2 people-Deferred to another meeting.
Range
*Dan held up a small draft of the new ABATE-DOT partnering sign to
be made. It was really small but we trust Dan and we think it will
be OK. Bob thought it should say at the bottom hang up your cell
phone.
Dan made a motion to order more patches 250 small and 50
large-passed
Roland made a motion to buy 50 shirts in the smaller sizes-passed
also. Pam Johnston will contact Sunshine to get an estimated cost.
